Main circuits
Main circuits — busbars, either bare or insulated — are designed and installed so that internal short circuits are not expected under normal operating conditions. They are dimensioned in accordance with short-circuit withstand requirements and constructed to withstand the corresponding stresses, with protection provided by appropriate devices.
Equipment
The equipment within the assemblies is installed and wired to ensure reliable and safe operation, without negative mutual interference (heat, vibrations, energy fields) under normal operating conditions.
Removable and withdrawable parts are designed so that their electrical equipment can be safely disconnected from and connected to the main circuit while that circuit is energized.
